Mount Arrowsmith Road & Narambeen Town Intersection Upgrades

Project Overview

Leeuwin Civil was engaged by Ramelius Resources to undertake road upgrades and construction works to support its new Tampia Gold mine site operation.

Primary project works involved upgrading the existing 10 km Mount Arrowsmith Road to a fully sealed all weather road. Mount Arrowsmith Road stretched between Mount Walker Road (exiting the town of Narambeen) and the new Tampia Gold mine site location entrance.

Supporting works included the upgrade of a number of intersections within the Narembeen townsite which needed to accommodate road trains traveling between Tampia Gold’s mine site and processing facility. An internal gravel road network was also constructed within the mine site location, as well as two storage ponds, and concrete foundations for the site offices.

As considerable volumes of basecourse gravel were required for this project, Leeuwin Civil mobilised a crusher and screener, and stacker from its own fleet to a nearby site, where it was able to process all basecourse gravel required for the project in real time. This showcased Leeuwin Civil’s in-house material crushing and screening capabilities and ability to supply all plant and material for works as a one-stop-shop.
